Neighbourhood Watch Associations In Surrey

The Surrey Neighbourhood Watch group coordinates all the NhW activities in the county of Surrey. We liaise with Surrey Police HQ in Mount Browne, Guildford and manage the consistency of NhW activities within the boroughs.

Each borough runs its own NhW schemes, and liaises with the borough Police Inspector. Members of the public (and organisations such as churches) register on the Surrey InTheKnow system as a Resident. If a Watch or group is also set up on the system a Resident is “promoted” to be the coordinator of the Watch or Group (the registration system calls these Schemes).  Schemes can have multiple coordinators and also have deputies.

Messages to Residents and Coordinators are regularly sent from the Police and from the borough volunteer administrator.

Surrey NhW helps the borough administrators to expand the NhW communities and provides booklets, stickers and other collateral.

National Neighbourhood Watch (NHWN)

The Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network represents all Neighbourhood Watch members across England and Wales. It is the body that engages with the Home Office and other partners at the strategic level. It supports SERF, our Federation and all the local Associations to help make the areas where we live safe, friendly and pleasant places to be. It facilitates free Public Liability insurance to all recognised member associations, window stickers for all members, promotes best practice through its website www.ourwatch.org.uk, and issues free regular newsletters to any individual who wishes to subscribe.
